I think in your case the app standby feature might be working. Just go to settings, developer options, and scroll all the way down to inactive apps. It could be that androidis setting unused apps to inactve.
In my case it turned all apps active again after one night on the charger. I just went to settings, battery usage, and then reset app preferences. After that I turned practiucally all apps to inactive again. I hope now that the behavior changes and the apps stay inactive. Couild also be that there is another app that turns all apps back to active by somehjow using them. I will neec to monitor it to be sure.App standby is at least the most promising feature of android M but it was not working before. Evenn my Nexus 9 tablet app standby was not working and i have just tried the same fix.Hopefully it works.
In your case, I suspect that app standby is working and saving battery for you.
i have updated my xperia z5 dual to marshmellow & found following futures are missing:
1. Stamina Mode
2. Startup Sound
3. in setting>apps>intalled applications could not found
require both stamina mode & ultra stamina mode
meanwhile Sony rolls out an update for stamina, I installed Greenify with agressive doze and I have nearly my 2 days back
This is good news. I used greenify before on a rooted Samsung Galaxy S2 but their Doze feature apparently does not require root. However, the documentation for the Aggressive Doze feature still says it doesn't work when motion is detected, but I will give it a try anyway.
On the other hand I have been trying the App standby feature but still haven't gotten that to work properly. What I see is that if I make applications inactive through developer options, they become active again after some time even without using the applications at all. Does anyone have that feature working?
By the way, my votes:
+1 stamina
+1 ultra stamina
It is a bit of a shame that I again have these problems with battery life. All this hacking stuff give me bad memories of my previous Android phone (SGS2) that required rooting, greenify, and some other hacks to get acceptable battery life. I was completely satisfied with the Z5 compact but now it is just an average phone.
Hi,
When i try to oprimise all apps and go back into to it , it defaults back to not optimised, how can i set to keep optimise all apps ?
That is a weird issue. I do not have that with optimize apps.
One thing I found missing inthe Marshmallow firmware is to set a time limit on do not disturb. Just press and hold the volume down rocke and when do not disturb is enabled, press it again. There used to be a method to set a time limit in hours. Why was this removed?
Edit: Ah, they have moved it. With the volume rocker you can only go to 'alarms only'. It is still there u der quick settings 'do not disturb'.
Bring back stamina mode. This new way with MM. You only get to choose to optimize or not and that's it. Doesn't show you the difference in battery life and doesn't actually help. I use the Z5 and before got through the day easily without charging it, and now I'm charging halfway through the day.... STAMINA MODE NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT BACK PLEASE.! MM wish I hadn't of done it now.
