Xperia Z2 back cracked inside the cover!!!!!

Hi,

I have recently purchased the Sony Xperia Z2 phone and within a weeks time the back glass cracked in the cover all by itself. This is rediculous!!!!

Never expected something like this to happen. I take so much care of it and i havent allowed it to even hurt anywhere as it is always in its cover. I woke up this morning and picked up the phone from my table to make a call when i felt something wiered happening in the back of the phone, i took of the cover only to realise that the back glass is cracked.

I hope you guys are going to replace it for me as this has to be some deffect in the phone. It horrible. Its my first Sony phone and i have a real bad experience.

Just wondering if you managed to get your phone repaired under warranty? My back panel just cracked due to overheating. Don't really wnat to have to pay to get it fixed when it's clearly an issue with the phone.

happened to mine after 3 weeks, screen was very erratic for a few days before, 

felt it getting really hot in my pocket whilst streaming bluetooth to my car stereo.  took it out of my pocket and the screen was really unsensitive then stopped completely, an hour or so later after being left untouched i noticed a tiny (less than 5mm) crack in the glass, but not through the surface?? 

sent it back to virgin mobile, they sent it to the repair team at virgin, who decided it was due to accidental damage because of the tiny crack!!

called the number from watchdog, explained the situation,  the lady seemed quite helpful (compared to virgin medias  attempts at customer service) when i receive the phone back from virgin i need to send it to sony.

meanwhile i have no phone, i have lost all my photos, still paying almost £40 a month for something i cant use!

would i buy another sony phone?

I had mine replaced free of charge. My front screen cracked. Touch wood the one gas been ok. Does get really hot tho. I stop using it when it's warming up, not ideal really.

Yes, mine too.... back glass cracked after bearly a month.  Initially, I thought it was a scratch on my crystal case, until I removed the case to clean it then I realised it was the back glass... and I didn't even use the 4K video function!!

My one has had the same issue. Has been with Sony (we do not) Care for the last 6 weeks - longer than I had ownership of it.

So far, the support team has left me with empty promises and worst of all - lied to me when saying on the monday "good news, we will fix it under warantee" then on the friday stating that they wouldnt be repairing it.

Having owned an iPhone for years and giving Sony a chance, they have lost a customer in me.

Sad thing is I work in a major phone retailer in the UK and cannot recommend my customers a Sony phone without the concern in the back of my mind the sheer disapointment they will recieve when they have to deal with potetial issues like I have.

I'm not asking for a favour from them, if i'd broken my phone by dropping it then its my own fault. However this KNOWN issue is being brushed under the carpet. 

I hope the others in the same situation as me have better luck
