Hi,
I have recently purchased the Sony Xperia Z2 phone and within a weeks time the back glass cracked in the cover all by itself. This is rediculous!!!!
Never expected something like this to happen. I take so much care of it and i havent allowed it to even hurt anywhere as it is always in its cover. I woke up this morning and picked up the phone from my table to make a call when i felt something wiered happening in the back of the phone, i took of the cover only to realise that the back glass is cracked.
I hope you guys are going to replace it for me as this has to be some deffect in the phone. It horrible. Its my first Sony phone and i have a real bad experience.

SONY, look and learn from APPLE and stop using glass so you can eliminate cracking issue.
You can't really tell Sony to start using Sapphire glass. It's really new and Apple has been testing it for over a year and a half now.
Sony also focuses on water proofing and sleek profiles of their devices as well as keeping price competitve. WIth sapphire glass, devices will get even more expensive as it is.
For Apple this is no problem, as they have many loyal customers and they'll buy the next installment, no matter what price.
Sony want to regain supremacy in thinking ahead of it's competition than they must go beyond just water resistance . Japanese phones have long been water resistance even before Xperia Z. By wraping their phone in glass that cracks, even spontaneously does not go down well in this age and time. Is sapphire so expansive? it used to, but not anymore .

So hopefully we can see Sony come up with their version of break proof screen to eliminate self cracking screen once and for all.
Sapphire screens are coming, not just yet though. Maybe after Samsung, or even HTC start using these, Sony will as well.
Like I said, it needs a lot of internal testing to get it right.

Quite right, there have been similar issues with Indian users and Sony has been replcing the devices under what is known as ADP (Accidental damage protection) policy, valid for 6 months. I;ve come across some people that have had two replacements already for various issues, mostly assembly. They got more recent batches.
