Z1 Problems

Hi there!

Was at a phone shop earlier this afternoon afternoon and there I was comparing the new HTC One M8, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5 and the Xperia Z1 side by side. For some reason I fell in love with the Z1. Why? It was just the right size (5" screen), its very light, build quality seem topnotch, audio quality (with my headphones) was near amazing, camera quality seem excellent and it was quite fluid and performance seem spot on.

But I want to ask about the curreent 4.4.2 update and other issues.

1. There seem to be no "Stop All" option as regards stopping all apps in thr multitasking button

2. Heard of intermittent wifi disconnections and this problem of wifi signal getting significantly weak even at a not-so distance

3. Camera placment is just wrong. You have a 99.99% chance you will cover it when taking a photo

4. Speaker sound still sounded muffled because of this wtaerproof thing.

Any comments please? Thnks.

Of course, just buy a screen protector and apply it over ASF.

Now, going back to the issue of wtaerproof....

YOu guys said it is safe to wash it in the sink provided the ports are all closed? Is this correct?

The headphone jack is still open but again i was told it is safe even if water briefly enters it? Is that correct?

So, do i need to dry the headphone jack before using it? Yes or NO?

Also about the ASF on the screen....

Bought an Xperia Z1 but just realised it has this minute, not pretty obvious marks as if mild key scratches. My question is:

1. Will it affect the performance of the phone?

2. If i put a screen protector film over will it "disappear" in a a way and i won't notice it as it is now covered over?

Please advice. Thanks.

It is safe as long as the ports are closed.About the immediate use,you should wait a little and let it dry.

The small scratches should not affect any performance, but if you got the scratches, they cannot be removed. You should have the ASF replaced at a sony service.

WOuld replacing the ASF normally be a free service with Sony?

How about my question on the clarifying about water entering the headphone jack?

I have told you before, the 3.5mm input is not covered,it means there is no problem if water enters there. But after you submerge the phone, you should wait some time for it to dry and after that connect the headphones.

SO, even if water enters the headphone jack after "washing" the phone in the sink will there be no problem of rusting inside after being exposed to the element for a long time?

Gino, the phone does not have any cover there. Why would they not put any cover if there could occur problems every time you wash the phone?

I understand but you must also understand that this is how it is designed to be.Of course, problems can occur anytime.

I have notoiced a BUG in the alarm clock.

I set it to 0630am. When it started alarming the screen is blank with no indication of an alarm or any option to cancel the alram or anything. I had to go to the Clock & Alarm app, then i had to delete the actual alram then it stopped; when i "turned off" the alarm the alarm was still going so had to go to Delete the alarm. I tried alarming oit at 0635am and the same thing happened.

When i bought the phone i did a reset of the thing then had to update it all over again. It's currently at 4.4.2.

This must be a bug. Or is tehre a solution tpo this?
