Hi there!
Was at a phone shop earlier this afternoon afternoon and there I was comparing the new HTC One M8, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5 and the Xperia Z1 side by side. For some reason I fell in love with the Z1. Why? It was just the right size (5" screen), its very light, build quality seem topnotch, audio quality (with my headphones) was near amazing, camera quality seem excellent and it was quite fluid and performance seem spot on.
But I want to ask about the curreent 4.4.2 update and other issues.
1. There seem to be no "Stop All" option as regards stopping all apps in thr multitasking button
2. Heard of intermittent wifi disconnections and this problem of wifi signal getting significantly weak even at a not-so distance
3. Camera placment is just wrong. You have a 99.99% chance you will cover it when taking a photo
4. Speaker sound still sounded muffled because of this wtaerproof thing.
Any comments please? Thnks.

It doesn't.
I have trtied it four times today and its still the same issue.
Rung Sony Mobile and after explaining to them the sitiation they seem to not have the answer apart from sending me an email for the PC Companion thing to find bugs in the system and repair it.
I have checked on my Z1,the alarms work fine.Even if I press power button,it will restart the alarm and turn on the phone.
Does the Alarm icon appear on the screen? And does it have an option to cancel or dismiss it?
Yes,swipe to disable and a button on middle of the screen.
Well, not on my Z1.
Also i have noticed another issue: battery.
The phone was fully charged by 7am and in a matter of 60 minutes it was gone from 100% to just 80% all just checking emails, Twitter, Instagram and 5 Youtube videos lasting 5 minutes maximum. That's it. That for me is pretty quick drain.
I have basically turned off almost everything that i can think off...GPS, NFC, Bluetooth, Auto Sync, Location services, Vibrate, Sound on keypress and notifications apart from BBC News, Twitter, Instagram & Whatsapp. I also made sure that the battery saving options under Power Magament is turned on apart from Location-based wifi. Birightness is set at least by 50% max and not on Auto. I also have the Snapdragon Battery Guru but i'm not sure if that actually helps as it will only "turn on" after 3 days of assessing my phone and if location-based services is turned-on which is very ironic as that itself drains battery.
Advice please.
I will advice you not to use any phone optimizers, battery savers.Get rid of them and see how it is.
What i did today was installed the PC Companion on my wife's WIndows laptop and followed the instriuctions given to me by the Sony Mobile rep. Phone was reset and back to its original factory condition.
The alarm clock issue was resolved but only for a while. I tested it and it did appeared on screen and i was able to dismiss the alarm. But, after that i have updated some Google and Sony Xperia/Sony Entertainment srvices ( i didn't even installed 3rd-party apps) and then the bug came back.
When i installed a 3rd-party alarm it turned on flawlessly. But the Xperia alarm remained non-working. I have a feeling some settings i have changed may have "triggered" the bug that is preventing me to see the alarm and dismissing it.
You should tell a staff member about this:

I am really sorry to hear about this alarm issue.
Before i installed the PC Companion on my other Windows laptop the Sony Mobile Rep told me they will ring me the day after to make a follow-up. They never did anything.
For me its kind of frustrating to know that there is this bug that nobody seems to know or be aware of. And as much as you want a follow-up it never happens all the time.
A good smartphone must be suplemented by good customer service & customer care.
I tried doing a "trial and error" way by installing several alarm clock apps from the Play store. Out of the 4 i installed two of them have triggered an alarm whilst the screen is turned off AND whilst the phone is on full silent mode and so i was able to dismiss and cancel it. So, that is telling me that it might be an issue with the 3rd-party app's compatibility (or some sort) with the phone's overall software & OS. Still doesn't solve my issue with the 1st-party app though.
Some setting is making my issue persist. And i don't know what setting change or update triggered the bug.
