My back and home button not working in sony z5 compact

hey.

just woke up after charging to phon all night and the back and home button not working everthing was fine before, what can i do?

I had the same issue with my Xperia Z5 Compact.  I ran the diagnostics and could clear the screen all the way around.  No cracks in the screen.  I fixed it by switching to Large display size (Settings, Display, Display Size Large).  Obviously, I would prefer a regular display size, but it is working now, so I will live with it.

As it turned out, the problem was the screen.  I got it replaced and fixed the issue.
