Android Marshmallow No stamina mode

Since Marshmallow has replaced Stamina mode, can you selectively choose which apps you want to keep running in the background when the screen is off or does doze just disable all background running apps whilst in idle?

I would really like to know this as I only like getting selected app notifications when the screen is off.
Does doze give you the same amount of freedom to selectively choose which apps to keep running in the background?

I'm still waiting for MM but from what I heard there's quite a few problems with it, anyone who has it, any improvements to the camera performance or is it still poor?

Yep Sony shot themselves on the foot with the removal of Stamina mode and Ultra Stamina mode functions. As the complaints pile up hopefully they bring back Stamina mode for those who updated to Marshmallow. As for now I will happily stay on Lollipop, as should the others who don't want to lose the 2 day battery life performance.

I only get half the battery life on Marshmellow then I got before. Will reinstall it back to last patch because the phone is not usuable like this. Been trying to talk with their customer support but they keep saying the same stuff over and over again and it is not correct info they are giving me.

I might just end up throwing it away and buy a Samsung instead.

I miss the comfort of Ultra Stamina mode when my battery is running really low, but I've found my battery life has drastically increased with Marshmallow. I use my phone quite heavily for Google Fit, Facebook, email, calls, Whatsapp, etc and my battery would barely last a day on Lollipop, which used to aggravate me. On Marshmallow, however, I've almost managed to get two full days out of it. I took my phone off charge yesterday morning at 6am and I've still got 19% battery left.

I'll just add my voice to the list of people who are really annoyed by th removal of stamina/ultra stamina. Having been upgraded for a few days it was much at managing battery life and working the way I wanted.

Hi

I have updated to A6 4 days ago. I am so sorry for deciding go to A6. In past 4 months I was charging my Z5 premium every second night, now it cannot keep battery until I got to home in the eve, from charger to Zero and shutdown it takes less then 10-11 hours. For me now battery life is between 35 and 40% for what it was with A5.1. If there is a way I will revert back, if there is no way, I will sell the phone.

This is not thread for that but after change to A6, there are a lot of other problems, like Sony Video app have so bad audio, loud and noisy, that I even stopper whaching movies.

Hi

try this. Factory reset. After that don't set account just go in settings and enable battery saving. Than setup acc. and reinstall app that you need. Make full charge and see what you can get from your battery.

p..s before factory reset backup your data.

Ok, so even if Doze and AppStandBy would replace Stamina Mode, what do you have to say about the Ultra Stamina, Sony?
Sticking with Lollypop for now 8-)

@palnitro You have a battery saver too under settings - battery usage (tap on the 3 dots).

After having marshmallow on my x5c for a few days, battery life is definitely not as good as with stamina mode. Now at the end of a working day battery is at 60% compared to 80% before the upgrade.

Please put stamina mode back in a future update.
