I would still like to get the XZ Premium but the XZ1 looks like it will have a better camera interface and has the 3D scanning.
What do you think?
XZ1 is a real jewel among the mobile phone arena. It is ridiculously fast, compared to my current Samsung S7 Edge, XZ1 smashed in all aspects. Screen is jewel of the crown of this phone, it is simply amazing. I watched Netflix and HBO on both phones, and there is no way to compare XZ1 with any other phone on the market. HDR is deep integrated in the screen and the colors are standing out like nothing else.
Sat comparing phones with a guy next to me with an Iphone 8
He's saying, 'nice screen, good sound, pictue great, that's fast etc.'
Compared to my last phone, it's fast, bright, looks great, sounds great, light, nice to hold.
Has some oddities - possibly Apps need updating by developers.
having had the phone 8 days now the initial "oh, i think i prefered my gold z5" thoughts have faded away.
why did i have those thoughts? because while there is a big similarity between the z5 & xz1 (and everything since the Z1) there are a couple of slight changes that take a little getting used to. and once you have it feels as natural as the z5 was to use.
it has "crashed" to a reboot once. no idea why. it was playing spotify at the time
the sound is TOO QUIET both through ear phones and through the speakers. I don't think it is any louder than the Z5 was, and that is annoying... it needs to be louder especially for calls/notifications.
the battery life is awesome if it is lightly used. like any large screen phone if the screen is alive the battery power will be eaten up but for things (like music play) it lasts muc better than the z5. The z5 i charged daily, the xz1 could be done every other day with the same fondling.
i am not sure which i prefer, the silver metal back (xz1) or the gold glass back (z5) to look at both have plus points - but to hold it the xz1 is better.
i have not noticed the wifi issues or the sms issues the z5 had with 7.0x & 7.1.1 8.0 on the xz1 seems very good.
photos i have taken seem fine. the slow mo video is great (try it with a bagless vacuum cleaner) but it does need very bright situations. the 3d creator needs a person to sit through a tutorial test scan before any other function can be used - that was annoying.
something else that shows the hardware is finally up to the hype of the apps... running the "fun" AR camera app does not end up with a very hot back of phone like it did with the Z1
Has got hot a few times whilst in my pocket - possibly having a power hungry app open
SD card woes - some stuff can see it, some can't
Oreo differences
Camera lens distortion
It is still fast, nice to hold, looks great, sounds great
At first, was leaning towards Huawei. But when I got to know tat they were not honest bout using either emmc, ufs2.or ufs2.1 memory on their flagship P10+, as well as other hardware issues, I then thought what else they might be hiding from their customers. So I turned to the only honest manufacturer that I have ever experienced personally n bought their latest flagship model.
N knowing that nothing is perfect but trusting the Japanese's culture n attitude on kaizen n serving their customers, to provide me with the best for my XZ1
