Hi
I'm running the latest firmware on the Tablet Z but my tablet seems sluggish and laggy. I've done a complete factory reset hoping that would help, but it's still slow. The only thing I can account it to is the latest update (below)
Android version: Google Android 4.4 (Kitkat)
Latest available software: 10.5.A.0.230
Release started: 2014-05-21
I've read somewhere that people are getting better performance on 4.3 so I'm considering downgrading but would prefer knowing whether this tablet is still in line to receive official Sony updates and if so, what is the update plan? Basically when (dont need an excact date) and what (4.4.4 / Android L ?) are we expected to receive?
Thanks
Wayne
Its probably fixes/enhancements on the existing version of Andriod
I have to be sure because I Have root.
If it's the same, and I install, I have to root again.
I don't want to do that for nothing.
I reinstalled this update on top of the other same number I lost root but with towelroot I regain root and find the tablet a lot better when scrolling and selecting an icon on home screen and internet navigation.......
overall perfomance is way better .....
So, you did a root on kitkat with Towelroot, and installed the same Kitkat 10.5.A.230 again?
And this went well, after that you rooted again with Towelroot?
I used this root method also.
Perhaps I will try too.
But the SD reader will still not work after the second update.
Yes when reinstalling KitKat I lost root than I reroot again without any problem ...
I do not use sdreader ..... but I can read usb flash drive with the adaptor and also used a mouse.... thru micro usb
Thanks for your information.
I did the same Kitkat update again, and put my root back too.
The root in one click is really simple, and the bootloader stays locked.
So you can unroot in a simple way too.
I still don't understand why the upgrade has the same version numbers.
Are there repairs inside, and why is there no information?
Nothing when Googled either.
And the reroot and sdfix makes the SD reader work again.
The only difference I see in the 2 updates is: more apps refer to the Android file on the SD card.
But you still lose data on the SD card, when updating or removing the app on the internal memory.
