I've had my Xperia for about 2 months now and as of about 3 days ago my push notifications stopped coming through when I'm using mobile data. When I reconnect to my home wifi they all come through, but when I am out I have to go into apps (such as facebook, messenger, snapchat, gmail) to be able to see that I have notifications.
Additionally, I was going to try to uninstall and reinstall the apps but now the Play Store will not let me in. It tells me that I have to enable background data (which I do have enabled) and then when I click on the enable button that it pops up with it opens sync options.
Does anyone have a way to fix either of these problems? The push notifications is my biggest annoyance.
Thanks for your help!
It would be worth trying to reinstall the Internet APN on your handset: Main Menu > Settings > Xperia > Internet Settings > Accept.

Then you likely have slightly more recent software and this menu has been changed to "Xperia Connectivity" in which case the Internet Settings option will be found under the "More" option in settings.

Thanks, I thought it might be an APN problem... However, I can't seem to select the 'internet' APN that is listed. Currently the phone selects the 'wap' APN (telstra.wap) automatically; when I reset to default, it deselects the .wap option (which I think might fix the problem?) but will automatically connect again without me doing anything. The other 2 APN options are telstra.mms and telstra.internet.
Do you suggest that I copy all the settings from one of the other APN options as a completely new APN?
Sorry if that is confusing, I'm not very phone-savvy!
Thanks for your advice!
For others interested the APN settings are found under settings > wireless & networks 'more...' > mobile networks > Access Point Names.
Have you tried simply deleting the WAP APN?

I can't delete any of the pre-existing APNs unfortunately.
Did you get the push notifications to work? 'Cause I have the same problem (for some reason Outlook seems to be an exeption, and also some games)... I've looked at the APN-settings and the two options I have are Tele2 Internet and Tele2 MMS, the former being chosen. As for phone-savvy, I'm not even the slightest so I don't understand exactly what more I should try to do here, maybe someone more competent could explain?
Weird thing is I've compared the settings, not only these but everything I thought could be related (and then some), to my father's phone (same model), they are the same and his notifications are working!
Does anyone have any suggestions? Would be so thankful for help.
