I have problems with my e-mail function in xperia Z1 , all mails i send from my phone are repeatedly resent to my e-mail outbox on my web-accounts in an endless lopp in five minutes intervals , this doesn't show on the phone yust in my outbox in this case in my Outlook account.
First i thought it was a virus in my computer or thought my e-mail got hacked when i saw 5000+ resent messages but now i have come to believe that its only in my outbox this problem occurs. I have changed email account , reset passwords , scanned all my computers with antimaleware, and it was when the problem reappeared and persisted with only mail sent from my phone i started to suspect that it was it who caused all this trouble.... If i delete my sent mail in my phone the problem is gone until i send another one , so i suspect a sync problem but can't see anything obvious in the settings , ........
Anyone who knows about this problem or have experienced the same ?

Is there a walkthrough for us to change our mails from POP/IMAP to Active Sync?
Why is this problem happening?
Is this a Hotmail problem? or is it something with our Xperia phones?

Remove the account you have now from Email -> [menu] -> Settings -> [your account] -> Delete account. It will then ask for your email and password again, enter those but select manual setup instead of next and enter the settings from my previous post in this thread.
I'm not sure what the cause it but it seems to only happen with Hotmail/Outlook.com and when using POP/IMAP (perhaps only IMAP).
My problem is that i set up my e-mail account, and now when go to e-mail, i just get Waiting for Sync Syncing. That's as far as I can get.....can't get to my e-mail account to delete and start over. This has been 2 days now waiting for it to sync.
Auto-Sync is turned on under accounts.
Any ideas?

Was this problem solved? I am experiencing exactly the same issue with my hotmail account and I don`t know how to solve it.
If we configure it as suggested, what do the ports have to be, in and out?

I've done as advised and used activesync, but now I can't drag down on the app to refresh my inbox.
I'm not sure that the emails actually get sent as much as they show in our sent items. I asked my friend who I'd apparently emailed 30+ times if she was getting lots of email from me, and she said it was just the one.
Using ActiveSync or the Hotmail/Outlook app as i mentioned earlier should solve this. I've tested it myself and an email is only sent once by the server.
You don't need to change the port, it uses the default.

If you have more then one email account, make sure you're not looking at the combined view. You can't refresh/update in that view.
This fixed my issue! I used ActiveSync and I only get one email in my sent folder now (rather than two identical emails sent).
