Hello!
I have a problem ...
Maximum memory on a laptop VAIO PCG-K315M 1gb
I bought two 512 MB memory pc-2100 sodimm installed in the laptop, but the laptop shows that costs only 512, though the program "Everest" says installed two 512 MB memory ...
Then I went and bought just in case two more memory to 512 megabytes, but pc-2700, but nothing has changed ...
Installed memory Pc-2700 at 1 gigabyte, but it shows that only allows 512 megabytes ...
Tries to call in those. support, but unfortunately did not work, then the receiver will not take, then sent to a service center, and there do not take up!
I need all-only consultation, how to do so to show the 1 gigabyte of memory!
In Bios and windows!
In advance, thank you very much!
Hi FirePlayer and welcome.
Your Vaio needs 2 x 512MB x DDR PC2700 CL=2.5 Unbuffered NON-ECC DDR333 2.5V
Check the exact specifications as not all makes are compatible.
I have 2 x 512MB DDR PC2700 modules in my K315 which work OK. I bought my memory here: -

And this memory I have installed two of 512 megabytes, but nothing has changed.
Is it bad or characteristics are not they?

The PC2700 modules should work OK.
All I can think is that one of your slots is faulty. What happens if you put one PC2700 512MB in one slot only and boot. Then take the memory out of that slot and put it in the other slot and boot.
Do they both say 512.MB?

not tested 512 megabytes of memory ...
could affect the company name of the manufacturer of the fact that does not show the size of memory?
what - NON ECC?
I checked!
The memory of 512 megabytes - works as 256 megabytes, in both slots
I think the problem in the memory, but still want to hear the advice!

Where are you getting the figures from?
Read the installed memory figure from the Windows Operating System - not from some external program: -
Start -> Control Panel -> System
On the 'General' Tab at the bottom, how much memory is Windows actually using?
