Sony KDL 42W828 Reboot issue

Hi.

in the last two weeks my Sony TV has randomly rebooted, shortly after being turned on, a couple of times.

This morning it rebooted 4 times in a row.

Do you have any suggestions as to what the cause may be and how to resolve the issue ?

Should I try with a Power reset followed by a  Factory reset should the first workaround not fix the issue ?

Any other suggestions ?

Hi there

If the TV is constantly rebooting itself, its more than likely a hardware fault with the TV.  I would contact the retailer you purchased it from and envoke your warrantee.

A couple of things to try

• Ensure the firmware is upto date on the TV
• Factory reset the TV
• Try replacing the power strip (im assuming its connected to one) with another, incase the power strip/ surge protector is faulty.

I've had this too .....

Seems conncedted with the latest software not handling internet channels, including those operated via Red button, 4music, QVC Extra and RT. 

This needs investigating, when Sony can bother, poor testing of the latest SW it would seem. I presume it'll ne addressed sometime.
