Right at the bottom of the page you're on there is a "Contact us" link.
Megabass can cause distortion at high volumes as it works at the extreme end of the low frequency range.Does this happen with every music track and have you tried using another type of wired or bluetooth headset? If you still think there is a fault, you can always run the SE Update service on the phone and see if that eliminates the distortion.
No, this problem happens with fast track songs only which uses bass guitars and percussions. i tried running SE updates on the phone using Menu>Settings>General>Update Software> Start update, but after checking from the net, it says that i have installed the latest software. Instead by reading through the comments, i found that there is another way of updating by Computer using update service, but i did not try that since so many people have criticized by saying that they loose widgets, night mode in camera, noise shield and so on in these forums. I am from Sri Lanka and there is no Sony Ericsson centres in my country, in case if anything goes wrong after updates. Therefore i would not like to risk my new 4 days old phone with such comments. The phone is much expensive here since it's still not in the market and i bought in the first come first serve basis since i am a SE lover. So please advice on these doubts before stepping into updating the software.
Also i saw a comment in the SE facebook page from a person with the same probs, and he had concluded saying that updating never solved this. Please confirm whether it is the fault with my particular unit or is it a problem of this particular model.
If it only happens with certain tracks, then it's unlikely that there's a problem with your phone.Yes, you can choose to re-install the same software by using the SE Update service on your PC, and this is can get rid of any problems that you might have. There is also the option of "phone repair" via PC suite. However, from what you're saying, there doesn't seem to be a problem with your phone but rather a problem with these particular music tracks: Did you transfer these tracks to your phone from your PC using the Media Go software? If not, try this and see if it makes a difference.Media Go also allows you to rip CDs at different bit rates (designated as Kbps=Kilobits per second), so a higher (or even lower, in some cases) bit rate may improve the quality of Megabass output at higher volumes on your phone.Let me know what happens.
Oh ok! Thank You Dr. Chris! I'll consider the Media Go application and transfer the same tracks and check them. I'll revert to you within a day! Thank You!
One more question Dr. Chris while I check the Media Go.. The same tracks that distorted in my new Hazel, played fine and excellent on my previously used phone, which is Sony Ericsson Naite. So how come Naite played well with Mega Bass effect and the maximum sound of the same tracks without distortion?
That could be because of differences in file format/codec compatibility between the two phones, something which Media Go should sort out, if that's the case.On the other hand, it could be simply a case of Naite's music software being better able at handling Megabass frequencies at high volumes. You'll get the answer after trying Media Go on the Hazel.
Oh.. when if it is the case that Media Go gives me the answer, I would really appreciate it. Thank You Dr. Chris. Media Go is on downloading process. I'll check it out and let you know by tomorrow.
i tried transferring same tracks through Media Go. What it does is, that it normalizes all the tracks to 128kbps and transfers, in this way, i saw a very slight difference, however not satisfied with the megabass overall, since it perfectly works with naite and w660 with the same tracks at higher volume. could you please add a patch to the update with a good megabass so that i could update it via phone. is it possible? would be much happy if it is possible.
i think updating via phone is much safer since i will not loose anything as comments come from forums.
Yes you're right, updating the phone through its own remote service doesn't affect user settings. The bit rate of 128Kbps is the standard rate, but you can choose to rip up to 320Kbps with Media Go and can also choose between AAC and MP3 format (from Tools--Preferences--CD Ripping).
