As the Sony BDV-EF200 is my 1st Blu-Ray player, I could do you a little guidance please.
My wife recently rented The Help (appropriately-named) on Blu-Ray, which was our first ever Blu-Ray disc.
The system booted-up, connected to the Internet and did a firmware update (now ver M07.R.0615), however when the disc was loaded the player (after some whirring etc) went blank and become unresponsive, though the system was still 'on' as pressing the power button resulted in "STANDBY" message on the display.
After several attempts I swapped the disc for another at the video store - same results.
I swapped the Blu-ray for a DVD version and it played fine.
Another Blu-Ray disc was OK, so it's not all Blu-Rays.
Richer Sounds have offered to swap the unit, but before a needless visit to Nottingham, I wanted to understand if this is a 'normal' phenomena with Blu-Ray???
