I have noticed in low-light photos, in both Superior Auto and Manual mode that there is a blue tint on the edges of low light photos, especially more on the left side. The only way I've noticed I can really mitigate it is if I lower the ISO on manual mode, but then the photos would end up being too dark.
I have seen this issue discussed on other forums; some say it is a hardware issue, some software, and others say a camera module replacement may fix it. But I don't think Sony has officially ever acknowledged this issue, even though it is definitely present.
Here are some example photos
Notice the heavy blue tinting on the edges..
I think it's related to "normal" Z5 and not Compact one
Why Sony doesn't answer ?
Yes but sometimes these differ for construction or other things
as the past learns us.
Hello,
I would like to hear at least a "we are working on it" from Sony...
Same with rest of the limitations...
It's continuing to happen, clearly, and I'd just like to know if is it normal or If I should get back it to Amazon for a new one because my phone is NEW, and everything's gonna be ok, and I haven't used FLASH, and my cover is clear, trasparent, so everything's gonna be alright
As u can see by these photos, blue tint is present on the lower side of the photo and not on the edge, also on the edge, but especially on the lower side
Let me know what's happening
I think to have understood the cause of blue tint edges
It's DUE, IMHO, by WHITE BALANCE
It happens in AUTO or INCANDESCENT
Try to do these stages :
1) Go in a dark room with just a bit of light, but just a bit, coming at example by your doors
2) Open your camera in Manual (8-20-23 mpx is the same, so as all settings, EXCEPT with ISO AUTO or >200 AND WHITE BALANCE) with all the lights u could have and let remain camera open then
3) Turn off the lights then
4) See the camera, (with WHITE BALANCE AUTO or INCANDESCENT) and don't move you trying to search for little light ... and YOUR CAMERA WILL BE ALL BLUE or SIMILAR, then
5) Move your WHITE BALANCE to FLUORESCENT, DAYLIGHT, CLOUDY and everything is gonna be alright, also with 3200 ISO in Manual or in AUTO
6) Move your WHITE BALANCE to AUTO or INCANDESCENT and your camera'll be again BLUE ...
So it happens when Z5 is surrounded by some lights but is in a dark room and WHITE BALANCE is COMPLETELY UNCAPABLE to react to the changing stages ...
I think u should try or should I do a video recording of what's happening ?
It should not be as this happens ... because if it's normal for you, then I can clearly go away from there and SAY HELLO DEFINITIVELY after Z1, Z1C, Z2, Z3 and Z5 ...
Let me know STAFF SONY
I'm enforcing to solve this issue and u ???
NOTHING TO SAY OR TO DO :S
Now I'll be uploading a video for see what happens with your camera
Is completely uneseless to have high iso or something like that if then our photo are completeley useless !!!
With Superior Auto, your "EXTREME AND PERFECT" AUTOMATIC MODE, situation is completely BAD, BAD, BAD and there, there's nothing u can do !!!
I think anywhere u have users as us who help to understand some bad things inside your Xperia
That's the video. Try to replicate and see if it happens to you. I don't think I'm the one because if I go on XDA or Forum like these, u can find some of these cases and others don't see because they don't get attention on it
VIDEO : Blue Tint Edge Explanation and "Hidden Solution"
And here are some shoots that are completely ruined by your camera or useless LOT of MPIXELS
Here's ISO400 and No Flash at 8Mega
Here's ISO200, 8 Mega, NO FLASH CLEARLY, but u can see on the left a bit of blue tint ...
