Z1 battery issue?

Hi all,

This happened:

After I picked up my phone in the morning (from charger), it had turned itself of during the night. After using it a while it started rebooting itself. This occures now very often. This happens with a lot of battery % left. Sometimes it restarts, and sometimes it just stops. When it stops I have to put the charger in to restart it, even it the battery seems to be fully charged. Can be an issue when I`m not at home. Slightly_smiling_Face

I have notised that the battery % varies sometimes. It can co from 4 - 100 % in minutes while connected to the charger (Sony charger)

I have tried this.

- VolumeUP/Home button.

- Red button in Sim slot.

- PCC resetting

The phone was upgraded to Lollipop about one month before this occured. Have been working fine after the upgrade.

Can this be an battery issue?

Kristian

Hi Sotonion. Yes, it's waterproof and sealed. But you can use a hairdryer or a heat gun to get of the backcover. You can find a lot of videos on YouTube. And you can find New batteries and new seals on ebay cheap.

so it's up to us to crack open the phone and replace clearly defective batteries? I'm now using an old htc one x where the battery is still going strong, because i can no longer rely on the z1 due to the issues everyone else is having with the battery

where's the accountability here?

It's up to you if your warranty has expired.

Factory reset will work. Because when you upgrade to lollipop it doesn't install all its Api's properly. So after factory reset it installes lollipop properly and then battery issue will get resolved

I too am having battery problems and it's out of warranty but being a sealed unit how do you change battery? Phone still working brilliantly on android 5. Seems a shame to sign up for a new phone.
