Sony has so much to offer. But right now I feel a little betrayed for the 800$ I payed. For a lot less you get a lot more. Other people like LG do, what Sony should have done: Quality DACs, Premium Cameras and so forth. But still other are a lot better for less money. How could such a real Premium look like?
- Premium DAC from the Walkman Series (if they really want to push connected Audio) from ESSS or something like that
- A premium camera that is at least on par with Samsung and Apple and has no distortion issues that makes faces look funny or has the weirdest color casts. Or just possibilities to deactivate skin-retouche and have it deactivated afterwards (my selfies are ALWAYS correct, no matter what the setting is)
- Continuous advancement in all categories. The Xperia X Professional had the better camera (referencing DXOMark here) but its now years older. The Z5 as well and the Z3 was the last phone to have a dedicated DAC for music-listening. I would love to rely on a company like Sony to not come up every half a year with surprises like "is this phone better or worse than the one before?"
I like the XZ Premium but I think they must make marketing right. I bought the phone for the camera and what I thought it is. But it isnt. I bought it to listen to high quality music. But its very low in volume and doesnt even shine against phones like Samsung who even use Quality DACs in their phones. I think I will pass the coming Sony-phones to see what happens because this way I am supporting the growth of the mobile-department instead of buying a great phone for a reasonable price. I could instead buy sony-stocks and would get a lot more out of it later probably.

It really didn't tho. As much as I love X / XP, the XZP is a far better camera.
You said " I bought it to listen to high quality music. But its very low in volume and doesnt even shine against phones like Samsung who even use Quality DACs in their phones."
What headphones you use? Or you max out the speakers and say that the volume is very low...
