Camera extremely grainy

Camera is extremely grainy. The photo is set to 23mp 4:3 . Even at 23 mp the photos look as if they are 5mp. Picture quality is quite bad.

One thing I have observed after meddling with the camera all these days is that, With Superior Auto on, Try setting "Touch to adjust" to 'Focus and Brightness' instead of 'Focus only'. It tend to give better results than before although, the grain is still there..

come on, the XZ is Sony´s flagship smarthpone that is more expensive than the Galaxy S7. There is no single excuse for such bad photos as Sony´s most common advertisement for this phone is the so called "perfect images". I dont see perfect images, Sony. All I see is a bunch blurry colour dots!!

The iPhone 6/6S/7 don't look good when zoomed in either. Manufacturers are trying to get the most out of tiny lenses and tiny sensors...and the results aren't all that great. The new Pixel phone takes awesome shots and Samsung aren't too far behind but Apple & Sony seem to be chasing the pack.

Problem with XZ's camera is that you don't have to zoom the image to notice the blurred areas along the edges. 😒
