bluetooth range issues

I just got my xperia xv2 compact a couple days ago, and I noticed it has very poor range for bluetooth. I need to keep the phone no more than several inches away from the speaker to not get choppy audio. Has anyone else experiences this? Is there a solution?

when you say a little better, could you elaborate on that?

Also, what if you remove the case and then boot in safe mode

This will disable all third party apps, maybe just maybe one it's acting up

I've removed the other post, have you tested another bluetooth device?

I tested an iPhone 6 and a moto g7. They work up to 12 feet away or so

That's odd, you should have a similar range, does your phone has a protective case?

It does, it works a little better when i take the case off but not enough

Rebooting into safe mode and booting back up into normal mode worked for me! Thanks!

the issue was a third party app, an app that you've installed, which one? can't really tell but that should help narrow it down if you encounter this again.

I just got the phone a few days ago, so I doubt it was a third party app, and I did a fresh factory install. The first thing I did was upgrade to android pie  and do so e system updates. Then Spotify and Nova launcher. Seems to work now!
