great device even though its a pre production unit gsmarena did the camera testing looking at it feels sony havent remove the post processing and compression because the level of high noise is still there plus hdr is extremely poor

this is sonys 13 mp used in Huawei Ascend Mate7 and it beats z3 compact come on sony just remove the post processing so that it doesnt compress so much with high level of noise

Gsmarena is the worst place to get info on phones that are not made by Samsung they got the specs for z3 wrong had to email them for them to change it and they haven't tested the product yet so how can they give accurate review or comparison

for one minute i will agree with you but how gsmarena got good pictures of huawei ascend mate 7 because its pictures are better than z3 compact

wow sony first you destroy the camera for taking pictures now videos too come on this is outrages by adding post processing in pictures cratiing too much noise and grain and now videos have washed out colors and loss of details

You don't want to have the post-processing removed completely, that would make the photos look only worse. Sony does need to work on better post-processing. There are too much over-sharpening artefacts.

True. Don't blame gsmarena for Sony's camera. They have eternal problems with the quality. Also the sound is not clear enough in video and low level (see the video sound with SG4 mini for ex), the noise is there as usual in photos. Also I don't understand the AR effects and 4k videos. It's just a mobile. How many customers will watch or use in 4k mode? And AR effects are for kids, they will pay 500 euros for AR? An adult or even young people don't pay attention to those details. Are kids the target for this mobile? Improve image stabiliser instead or focus or colors and contrast. Being a mobile the focus stabiliser should be the first priority for a clear picture. Forget the glass on the back, it slips very easily. And many others. The price is premium. Make the mobile premium also.

I think a better digital stabiliser, o even a optical, is very much necesary for this camera and increase the quality of post processing in all phones with 20 mpx cameras, than record 4k or ar effects.

Those videos that you posted shows actually that the Z3 is the most capable of the device compared...

The Galaxy Alpha is extremely shaky and the colors are too saturated

The iPhone 5s is actually very good at displaying colors in the video, but the whole image is too dark, specially the background... it seems as if the Z3 Compact is actually using HDR on video, as you can see both shades and bright areas pretty well, despite the less lively colors...

Oh, and the mic in the iPhone is crap... I can barely hear what he is saying, while it sounds loud and clear on the Z3C.

So in my opinion, the Z3 Compact has better stabilization, natural colors and great autofocus...

Go check your eyes...
