Xperia z1 compact won't charge using USB, magnetic dock works fine!

My Xperia Z1 Compact suddenly stopped charging while using a regular charger connected through USB. But the same charger and cable works fine if connected through the magnetic docking station. Is there any logical explanation to this weird behaviour? Is there any quick fix? Is it possible to repair? Shall I send it in for repair?

There might be something faulty with your USB-port. If you have tried several chargers but you experience the same behaviour, I would suggest that you visit nearest service center to have your phone examined by a technician.
