What IS the problem at SE?

Yes another complaint about the Satio.

Sony ericsson make.believe

Is that what the SE R&D team do?

Make themselves believe that the satio is good enough to go on sale?

At what point did somebody at SE decide that a seriously laggy UI was ok?

At what point did somebody at SE decide that software that crashes is good enough to be sold as a flagship model?

At what point did somebody at SE decide that a second hand nokia OS  that isn't compatable with so many nokia apps was a good Idea?

At what point did somebody at SE decide that a battery that nearly lasts 24 hours if your lucky is acceptable when there are higher capacity alternatives?

These are only the basic problems.

Seriously Sony Ericsson what were you doing when you thought that this phone was ready for launch?

Racing against another manufacturer, " We need to release a new model quick! Doesn't matter if its S**T, just get it out!"

Or did you just think " F**K the consumer. they'll buy it anyway, once we've got the money it doesn't matter what happens"

I've had a sony ericsson phone for the past five years but this is my last.

I remember it being xmas when the big commercials started flooding the TVs. After a few days I was convinced that the Satio was the phone I'd been waiting for and ran to the nearest shop. There the employees told me that SE had them send back all units because the Software kept crashing and that I should come back sometime in January...so, yes I guess the initial thought at SE was "Gee, Christmas is coming up. We should really get the Satio out and run a major advertising campaign, so all those geeks will want to hand over those 650 Euro."

hey, be thankful you at least have a selection to pick from in PlayNow. all the US gets for games is Rally Master Pro. along with no videos or good ringtones or anything for that matter.

Mike have you looked around the other satio and symbian forums, there are usually games, tones and apps that can be downloaded, lots without needing to hack the phone.

The best support this forum could offer would be links to reviews about samsung, nokia, lg phones etc and to advise people to insure their phone incase of accidental smashing- sorry 'damage'.

I'm getting irregular screen tearing now. It just gets better.

HI Treymon!

I was at Symbian Show in London and I spoke with a few engineers about the problems that I had with phone and ask about the missing functions which Sonyericsson always had on UIQ3 system and wasn't on S60 5th Edition.

They had a major problem with the move from UIQ3 to Nokia S60 5th Edition, at the same time they had too many complications with S60 5th Edition during the development of the Satio.

During the same time they tried to bring functions from UIQ3 to S60 but most of them without success because of the way S60 works. As I have been informed they will continue to bring most of the functions from UIQ3 to S60, another thing that was told and didn't happen was the major upgrade of the system including the interface that many people complained.

The only thing I saw was just two small firmware updates and not what I heard on the first place.

I've been mistaked by their advertising as you and anyone else who bought Satio, otherwise wouldn't been so many complains about this phone.

To tell you the true I don't know if they will care for what we say here, on the other hand I think they will jump to the new Symbian 3 for a new models and we will be left over. Did you see how many Android versions from Sonyericsson?

Is sad and true they don't care, as long they still selling to some countries.

the only place i have looked for games and other stuff is through PlayNow. who said anything about hacking? the United states version of PlayNow has basically no selection of anything to choose from.

You're right. The satio is already old news for sony ericsson. They don't care because they think they don't need to. They sell plenty of other models so satio owners are the minority. I think that if every satio owner never bought another se phone it wouldn't make any financial difference to se so they don't bother or care.

There is various chat about hacking on all these sites thats why I mentioned it. I haven't hacked mine because i'm not that technical, I can't be arsed and I shouldn't have to. The fecking thing should just work, really, it should just work.

thanks. il look into it. although im not sure if i will do any modding because i still have hope for an update from SE(although its a small hope)...by the way..i like how they still havent emailed me back after a week now. i sent an email to SE and no reply.
