waterproofing

When I open walkman --> settings --> sound enhancements--> settings( in which we select the surroundings eg. Studio club and concert arena) it crashes
It says sound enhancements stopped working
It all happened after 4.3 update
Phone has become.full of probs its heating more than before and hangs also
Please look into the problem please

The above advice is good but please try this first: Main Menu > Settings > Apps > All > Sound Enhancements > Clear Data.

I buyed my Z1 on 4 jan 2014... upgraded OS to 4.3... After upgrading to 4.3 I also face similar issue.

so I did factory reset. Now everything is same.... dont worry your OS will NOT be reverted back but al your contacts, msgs, calender enttries and accounts will be gone...

so better make a backup everything stored in phone memory.

settings>backup & reset>factory data reset

I'm also having the same problem. Whenever I try to go to sound enhancements settings it displays a message saying, "Unfortunately, sound enhancements settings has stopped"
Can you please guide me to fix this issue.

You need to repair via pc companion or sony update service.

If one does a backup, is everything recoverable after the repair or will you lose some info/apps from the phone. Is Sony working a fix or update for this which doesn't require users to use the repair function? Could there be a system file we can redownload?

You can restore most of the apps after a repair.For now,it seems only a repair of the software fixes sound enhancement.

The suggestion that Sam @ Sony Xperia Support mentioned was not even possible as the CLEAR DATA button was not selectable.
Storage on device App on device 16kb; Data on device 0kb.

May wait for next update as to not risk losing some data/messages stored on phone.
