I bought my SBH52 in January 2014. it was great, or maybe still is... It works well with my Xperia Z1. Brought it for runs to listen to music, or to watch videos on my phone with it.
Only recently I realised that my SBH52 has gone quiet. It doesn't make any sound during startups and shutdowns, or when connected to my phone. It did make those sounds when I just got it. Now it just doesn't. Also, it doesn't play music and videos as a speaker anymore (i.e. without the earphones plugged in). It used to do that, which I liked that feature a lot as I can make it into a mini phone. But now, it just doesn't.
So can anyone tell me whether this is a hardware problem or a firmware problem? I had upgrade the firmware to the latest version. Connection with my phone is fine. It's just that the loudspeaker mode is totally gone.
Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
I suggest that you make a reset of your SBH52 to see if there are any improvement:

But if the issue remain, you should visit nearest service center to have your headset examined by a technician. You can contact your local support team for information about nearest service center and/or how to proceed with this in the best possible way:

Hi Hampus,
Thanks for the reply. I have tried resetting many times, but it doesn't work. I will take your suggestion of bringing my headset to the nearest service centre to get it checked out.
