What settings do you have active and how far up the 'sliding scale' are they......also what do you have selected as your tones for texts/emails/calls etc

If you mean by the 'sliding scale' the equalizer, it is all off.. Volume is all set to the max.
I selected different tones for texts, emails, whatsapp, and calls.. What I hear is the call tone, but when things are noisy around, I don't hear it at all, while I hear my siblings and friends tones on Samsung, HTC, iPhone and even blackberry.. I liked Z1 more than Z2 in tone volume

What i mean is......Settings - Call Settings.......what your Ringtone is and do you have Vibrate when ringing ticked along with Increasing ringtone....by 'sliding scale' i mean how loud you have the ringtone set by using the side rocker volume switch.
With regards to texts etc....when you press the messaging app then the 3 dots top right and go into settings to configure tone etc
Email settings depends on what app you use.....for instance i use Yahoo and all the settings for my email are obtained in the Mail Settings onthe app...

As I mentioned, sliding scale "volume" set to the max the device could get.
Messaging settings, already done from settings, sound and selected the tone.
Email, I use Gmail and I set the same tone as for messaging..
My problem is not hear, the problem that volume is low and I don't hear the notifications.

Well it seems as if you have everything set out correctly......my volume for email/ringtone/texts is only set around the 3/4 mark and they are loud enough and i have no problem hearing them......and i live in a big house.....do you have a friend with a Z2 that would allow you to replicate exactly the settings for everything that you have on theirs, that way you can see if there is a difference and that way you can determine if your Z2 is indeed faulty:smileysmileywink:

It seems u have a device that's made only for u.. Check ppl complaints about the Z2.. Please don't ruin this for me, I want Sony to hear this.. I don't believe that Sony had a volume that ever close to Samsung or iPhone.. I always had Sony and Sony Ericsson, they are always lower in volume.. But Z2 is a disaster compared to these.. Thx for trying though
.......'device that's made only for u'........don't ruin this for me'......honestly why do i bother:smileyrolleyes::smileyrolleyes:
