FYI, The new firmware available for Xperia M5.
It is version 30.1.A.55, however, it still is on Android 5.1.....
build number: 30.1.B.1.55, hopefully solve shutdown issue....
Shutdown issue or sudden death is hardware related. Old battery did not have enough capacity to cope with phone requirements. Go to Sony SC for your country and claim for new battery or new improved handset. Believe me I have done this twice and now I got 2016 model which is all Ok.

Probably just the security updates, its up to Feb 2016 now.
Hi,
What is sony SC? Where is it?
Hello,
The battery issue was fixed at the previous update. The battery was so awesomely optimized at the previous update, that my phone status sometimes showed 5, to 7 days at stamina mode (which previously showed not more than 2 days).
But yes after the latest update ......30.1.B.1.55 the Battery drain issue is back.
Ok thanks,
I contacted the service center, as always they act like they know nothing about it. The SC is careless, known for many frauds. Even if they might agree to replace... I am afraid they might do nothing, they will just reinstall the firmware and show fake replacement on papers, or they might ruin the phone....
What is the battery drain issues? My M5 battery indicator doesnt seem to be reliable. The battery percentage will drop a few percentages at times. On wednesday it drops from ~60% to ~20% in half an hour LOL.
