Multitouch

Hi, i was wondering if the xperia x10 would ever be getting this as it could make the phone so much more incredible, will they include this in an update?

No, Sony Ericsson have confirmed that this would not be possible owing to restrictions in the hardware.  It's not a software issue.

If I can find the article in which this was confirmed, I'll post it here, if you like...

hmm... i read on other forums that multi-touch is software independent now ... they made it work on a HTC (ex. androidforums.com)

...so let's earn that money "we" get each month ,eh ?

Yup, there was an article on the SE Blog where someone from SE confirmed that the X10 hardware doesn't support multitouch, therefore no multitouch for the X10 as no form of software implementation will be able to add this functionality to the hardware. Thought I read somewhere about either the X10 Mini or Mini Pro having the hardware to support multitouch but that SE wasn't going to implement it or something.........any comments on this, Jeff?

This is the blog article confirming that there'll be no multi-touch on the X10.  Not found anything specific to the mini or mini pro.

X10 MIni and mini pro will just have dual touch.

Just found this, which says dual touch is possible on the X10 mini, if the software is upgraded to allow it...

Thanks for the link. So I guess that means you'll be able to do pinch to zoom on the Mini then.
