Lollipop update is a mixed bag

So I just got Lollipop on my Z1C and had alot of expectations. Sadly it has more downsides for me at the moment.

The interface is pretty inconsistent and the white color ... oh my god I need to wear sunglasses now when operating on my phone. The autobrightness that had same flukes in Kitkat seems to be here as well (it's increasing the brightness when the background has white or any light colors in it and not based on the ambient light). Basically I can't use the phone during nighttime if I want to read something without disabling autobrightness or else my eyes bleed. Speaking about inconsistencies what is this Sony on the right the "thing" there was just slapped on in the last seconds? I bet is isn't hard to use same design you used to clear the dropdown notifications, something similar to what I "painted" on the left.

Next up some other inconsistencies. Though our phone can do 4K video recording (yes it can, it's not a hardware limitation ... just Sony limitation and I don't need to prove this you already know) I was happy we at least got 1080p@60FPS on Lollipop. Or did we? The screen below is from a video shot at 1080p@60FPS, or well at least that's what the camera app thinks so.

Oh yes that is 30FPS and I'm not the only one reporting this issue, XDA threads started to notice this too.

Next up some benchmarkings that I thought would at least be as good as Kitkat if not better. Well I guess I was wrong again. I ran the test 3 times to be sure and got similar results, nothing over 40k and that runtime ... well something is wrong there for sure.

I'm not trying to make a hate thread here since I stuck with Sony since my first smartphone but some stuff here kind of demonstrates someone is not doing his job right and for sure it isn't me.

Since 5.0.2 will probably be the last update for Z1C I'm dissapointed a bit but I also have nothing to worry about in the same time since the lovely devs and mods on XDA will do better. I do feel sorry for the average users though that doesn't tinker with his phone. They will just have to manage with this.

There is some bugs in the version(at least in my z1 compact):
1. it will reset some times when I connect a usb flash!
2. in ultrastamina mode the sms program will stop from time to time, some of shortcuts also changed after restarting to the normal mode.
3. after restarting the default sms program will be changed to the sony's
most of the problems are related to the move to sd in which activated in this version but in a buggy way!

Is any other peaple who have these problems? what do u think about; r these buggs of sony or lollipop? when sony will remove the buggs?

I saved 4.4.4 firmware on my PC after the last software repair I did in PC Companion. I did it on purpose to save the firmware files necessary for the procedure described in the next step.

Then I found instructions how to make my own FTF file from the 4.4.4 firmware files PC Companion keeps in one of its directories.

After I made my own FTF, I used Flashtool to flash my z1 compact with 4.4.4.

To make it complete, is no longer a feature that we can On or Off anymore. Is all time ON.

Here are my comments:

-2 swipes to exit locked screen mode

-Can't seem to stop notifications of the "Data roaming is switched off" warning. I live on the border of 2 countries and nearly always have it switched off and don't need to be reminded of it.

-Removal of the airplane mode shortcut via the power button. I use this a lot. When locked, I now need to swipe, input pw, 2-finger swipe and press button.

-Widget clocks seem so small (2x1) compared to the locked screen clock which looks more like 4x2.

-I'm not able to enter the image viewer app from the camera app. This might be because I'm using quickpic and not the inbuilt one.

-Design of small app drawer, icons etc. haven't been updated.

-I really prefer the design of the navigational buttons from the stock lollipop version.

Otherwise the rest seems fine!
