Hi , at the bottem left side of the screen, on my xperia x10, the word safe mode has appeared, i didnt notice it before, is this normal, i noticed it after i had downloaded some apps from google market,should i download the anti virus app and install. any help most wellcome   cheers.

Hi!

It sounds like you started the phone in safe mode. Like you can do on a computer.

To do this you:

Turn off the device

Power on

During start up, hold down the menu button as soon as you feel the first vibrate

Continue to hold menu down until phone has completely booted

Safe mode allows you to run only standard Android App, no ones bought from Market.

Often used to test system settings.

Can this be what happend to you?

Just a restart shall bring the phone back into standard mode.

Hi , thanks for the reply, i switched the phone on the next day and safe mode word had disappeared,  thanks again   ian.
