Cannot open SMS

I got a notification that I have two new SMSs. When I press the notification it takes me to the SMS application and into the conversation. But it only show old texts. When I press back to homescreen the notification still say that I have two new SMSs. 

I have not added my friends number in my contact list yet, i.e. it is displayed as a number.

That sounds strange. Can you see these messages if you open Hangouts? Have you installed any 3:rd party messaging application?

I had deleted all texts before I saw your response but I can share some more background info:

I suspect that it maybe can be related to the move I did from my old xperia arc. I used the export program for mac to move all my data (SMS, contacts, pictures etc)

I've seen another "issue" with SMS. One of my contacts showed that I had 8 unread texts, but it did not do that initially. I think this could also be related to the export/import. But strange that it took a couple of days after the import before it showed 8 unread messages.

Anyways, the problem is gone now. I can receive and see my sent messages, the "delete all" texts solved the problem for me.

To be a bit more specific, I deleted all texts in the converstaion, not all texts, only those that I had with my contact.

Glad to hear that you solved the issue and thanks for the feedback.

As you say, i suspect this is something that was caused by the transfer and that something happened there.
If you need the messages from your arc in your new phone you could try transferring them using a general backup software for Android and see if that helps. You could for example try MyBackup or MyPhoneExplorer.

I´m facing similar problem when I i try to open a SMS, it just frease the phone, but for me it happen when I´m Online in Wireless or Data 3G.

I´m runnign a 4.4.2 on a Xperia Z

What is the soution
