Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

First just try to remove the SIM card and insert it again. You could also try starting the phone without SIM card just to check.

Trying another SIM card isn't a bad idea either.

But if nothing of above helps I suggest that you try to reinstall the phone software using Update Service..

Yeah mine does that a lot too since the new update.  And exactly as you described.  I've tried to take out my sim and sd card, reinsert but still the same.  Tried a forced reboot (holding power and vol up button for a few seconds), but still the same.  Seriously thinking off trying to go back to last software before recent update.

I've tried about four different .199 firmwares. Random reboots about 10 times a day. Sometimes using the net, sometimes just touching the lockscreen will shut it off or reboot! Buggiest release ever!

I have the same problem the new firmware didn't solve any of the bugs mentioned in the first one. Including blue screen in movie app, phone reseting and the most important the SD card corruption issue!!!

Same issue here - "sim/uim card removed" followed by random shutdowns since upgrading to 4.3. Happens 5 - 10 times per day. Tried a factory reset, made no difference.

In that case I think that this needs to be examined and fixed at a repair center. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.

I have resolved the rebooting issue by removing/reinserting the sim card but this update is really buggy.

Several of my apps have stopped working now and just crash causing full battery drain in 3 hours. Chrome is one of them, my online banking app is another to name but 2. I have tried updating these apps but they are already the latest versions.

Also the touch screen is very unresponsive at times. I only hope a fix is released soon to overcome these problems...

I also have this problem. Did a factory reset on it the other day to try and fix, didn't work and lost all my contacts.. I will try some of the tips listed above and see if it helps.

Any word on the next update to fix this error? It's just shoddy work if no one fixes this bug that is affecting so many people.

I have the same problem and I called the sony support center and they told me to reupdate my phone using the PC Companion. So I did it ,but the phone continued to restart again and again.I called them back and they told me to try with the sony update service app ,but the issue still exists... I really don't know what to do...
