is there a dvd player on y series laptop?

Hi anjonet3 and welcome.

No, the Y-Series Vaios are built for extreme portability and to get such a small footprint, there is no room for an Optical Drive.

It does have a large hard disc so it is possible to load DVDs from a small portable DVD player or from a USB Stick.:smileywink:
