I have recently had to reinstall Windows XP on my Sony Vaio PCG-7D1M. Unfortuntaely i have been unable to locate the required discs to install the sound drivers.
I have visited the vaio website and downloaded what i believed to be the necessary drivers. It advised that i installed the UAA High Definition Audio Class driver before the audio driver itself. I have completed this and installed the audio driver. The sound option appears in mytask bar however no sound is present. In the device manager it states that the modem device on high definition audio bus is required - i cant locate this driver and does it effect the sound?
Does anybody have the sound drivers or no where i could find the correct ones. Every other driver seems to have installed ok.
hi
download this archive:
ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/OS/XPDOWNGRADE/Z11_WITHOUT_DISC/DRIVERS/2%20AUDIO%20DRIVER%20REALTEK%205...
then unzip, run hotfix from the first folder and audio driver from the second
all devices should work fine on Z-serie
goodluck
Which drivers did you download? You won't find any under the model you quote - that is just the chassis number!
I suspect you have a VGN-FS315M model with a Realtec soundcard.
You can download the Original Drivers Package from here: -
