How to keep your vaio in good shape

The internet can cause your Vaio and laptops in general numerous problems. We all know about viruses and spyware which can seriously bog down the cpu and therefore it is important to make sure you've got the right programs installed to monitor this ever present problem. Good pc maintenance will most certainly maximise the performance of your vaio in the longterm..

Thought i'd post a few links from www.download.com of programs which i have found really work in maintaing your laptops performance..

Anti-Virus: I would advise anyone to purchase a good anti-virus program as they're a neccesity when using the net.

Norton Anti- Virus costs about 40 pounds and can be purchased from most pc shops..in my opinion its the best.
If you're not up for paying for this stuff, i'd recommend
Avast Home Ed.

Spyware removal..VITAL! Spyware can seriously reduce the potential of your vaio..work wise, games wise, internet wise..everything.
Bazooka Adware and Spyware Scanner 1.12 is the free option and works well

However i use Spyware doctor. expensive yet extensively cleans your system;

performs a variety of cleansing operations including removing junk and obsolete files which cause your system uneccesary hastle

Registry mechanic,http://www.winguides.com/regmech/?ref=Googleadg4 , i would also advise as it sorts out and defragments your registry. Ive found it really makes a difference..

You should also make sure you perform regular error checks and degragmentations of your main hard drives to optimise their performance. Right click on your hardrives icon (in the my computer screen) and select properties, and then tools..

Finally, i personally stay away from 'system optimisers' as i havent had much postive feedback on their effects on systems. Do they really work? well maybe slightly, but the above programs are much more effect in producing a performance increase..

Can't stress how important maintaining your vaio is. Especially due to the current garbage floating around the internet which unfortunately manages to find its way on to a majority of our systems

Actually i was gonna shove the FAQ on the net elsewhere, if there's no stickies here I don't see how it could handle an FAQ.
