Downgrading VGN-FZ11M to xp

Im going to downgrade my vaio VGN-FZ11M to xp, im wondering if the drivers + utilities from the original installation work on xp? Thanks

edit* I also need to know how to install drivers using nLite. I'm not sure whether to use regular PnP drivers or select some textmode drivers? And if textmode, which to i select for a Hitachi HTS541612J9S? Thanks

Hi Azarathal and welcome.

Sony do not support XP on your model and so there are no official drivers or utilities available. If you need to claim under the warranty you will have to return the system to XP and Sony will not give any support for XP problems on your model.

However, there are drivers for the FZ19 Vaio that you can use and there are also drivers on Sony's Asia-Pacific website.

Have a look at this large thread (it's in Spanish but you can probably follow most of it) here: -

http://club.vaio.sony.co.uk/clubvaio/GB/en/forum/viewthread?thread=45094

At your own risk, you may like to look here. These drivers are not specifically designed for your model and inevitably a few things will not work: -

Thanks for this help... Its just, i hate windows vista and will do anything to get it gone. What i will do is install it on a partition and then get the drivers working, once i have the drivers working i will then try it on the main partition.
