My VGN-FZ31Z BD-RE drive will no longer recognise Bluray discs, either blank or already recorded upon (by the same machine). Has anyone got a solution?

No, there have been no changes that I can think of. I haven't tried to burn a Bluray disc for some time so I can't be sure when the change occurred. I did wonder about the unwanted change from WinDVD to Coral a while back. A retrograde step but it doesn't seem to be possible to go back. All previous restore points have also disappeared.

There is a drive update on vaio update tool so might be worth a look.

Do you have a link to this update? I can not find it. Device Manager tells me that the driver is up-to-date and Vaio Update shows nothing.

You will have to search for it manually under support with your specific model number and then all the updates and drivers are shown don't worry if you think it is already up to date as the software checks first before trying to update ,some are on vaio update but others are manual so look through them all.
