Very simply this TV runs an old version of the red button iPlayer service I think and was a 2009 model so isn't on the list for that reason, as pretty much everything from 2011 onwards ran a newer HTML version of iPlayer.

If you've done a factory reset and its still not playing ball, I'd maybe see if you can test it on another internet connection, maybe an understanding friends or something like that. Realise this is a bit of a pain, but at the moment, its almost impossible to pin down the issue. If it works at your friends, then its your connection, if it doesn't then it may well need to be looked at by a service centre

Hi

Maybe try using the proxy settings for Virgin Media, see if that makes a difference?

Quite likely to be a Sony issue as my I player on Bravia 40EX403 on freeview is doing the same thing. This set has an older Iplayer platform compared to my other two Bravias which are working OK.

Hi Jocardy - have you tried to report that to SONY support?

I ave and they haven’t even acknowledge that I do access the IPLAYER
via red button.. they said this is not how is should be accessed....so they
have washed their hands and told me to speak with BBC or my ISP but I think
this is not a case

The SONY TV which I’m using is one of the 1st with IPLAYER….I still
think that this is a SONY issue

The Guarantee does not cover this type of fault. It has happened before and has come back into use in 24hrs. Other ip videos eg channel 5 still work by the way. I find Sony telephone help a waste of time. More use talking to Sony on here. I'll post again  when I get it back.
