Hi there. Hoping an expert here can help. Sony Bravia tv, still fairly new, less than 18 months old. Recently, the red button on BBC1 (channel 001 on Freeview) has stopped working properly.
This is my dad's tv, he is 86 & he likes to use the BBC interactive text service to read the latest news, sports headlines, horse racing results and so on.
I've tried to re-tune the tv channels, I've re-booted the tv by holding down the power button for a period of seconds until the system re-starts, but all to no avail.
I did briefly get the interactive to work but it froze very quickly on one of the sports news pages. I was trying again this morning and only if you hold down the button on the Sony remote for a long time does it start to load - I got the 'Please wait…' message but again it does not load.
This is one of the main things my dad uses the tv for. I don't think there is any issue with latest firmware. It's set up for automatic software updates but this is digital tv from an aerial - my dad has no wifi or Internet-enabled services.
Is there a solution or do I need to contact Sony? I'm not sure how long the free warranty lasts but like I say, it is less than 18 months old. Purchased from John Lewis.
Thanks for any help.
The model number is - KDL-32WD756
software version - 8.206-1000-1.300-01

Hi persianking68,
That's disconcerting. However, I noticed that the software you've got is rather obsolete version (8.206). Can you try installing the latest 8.216 version here and let us know if it improved the situation?

Thanks Tenneen9000. Will give that update a try.

Good news to report - that firmware update appears to have resolved the issue and BBC interactive service working properly now.
Thanks for the help.
