I am trying to playback films from a 1TB WD hard drive through the usb on the TV. Some of them play and some won't !
Hi FF,
I have a KDL-37EX403,
I have also found that some films play, some don't, it's all to do with the origanal codec that the film was converted with (I'm assuming the films are in .avi , divx, mpeg4 format)
It's something I just learned to accept, about 25% of my films don't play.
It really is'nt worth trying to convert a non playing film to a format that works, I've tried it, took over 6 hours to convert, and the result was very bad quality.
Sorry this isn't a solution to the prob.
pete.
Hi,
My TV KDL60-EX705 play only divx movie in standard resolution. Harddrive must be formated in FAT32 format (NTFS and exFAT didnt works).
MKV movie in HD i must convert (change container) to m2ts format. I use tsmuxer tool. Converting is quick (10GB movie in 1080 takes cca 5 min, depends on speed or number of hdd) . Movie must be divided to 4GB part in tsmuxer tool. Bravia automaticly change part (they must by in directory). I use this for HD movie for my son.
