I don't have normal broadband I tried instering my mobile broadband USB stick but it said it could not be recognised. Is there any way to use this to access the internet?

Not in this way as the Tv simply doesn't have the software installed on it to recognise your specic 3G card in the way that your PC would.
Furthermore depending on how you are charged, you could run up a huge bill if you are using iPlayer alot etc. If you had a mobile broadband router or hotspot and then connected the TV wirelessly or wired to that, then it would work.
