sony xperia sp wont update

Hi guys first time on a forum but i have had my new Sony xperia sp since early December of 2013 and the newest update for my phone was recently released. My friend who has the same phone somehow has the update and he hasn't rooted his phone. im also on the firmware 12.0.A.1.284 and have the Android version 4.1.2. Is there a reason why my phone can't get this update?Is something wrong with my phone? Thanks in advance.

Nothing wrong if you did not get the update yet,you should check with sony update service or pc companion:

Thanks for replying, ive been checking on the pc companion everyday and even done the steps which included reseting to default settings and the update still has not shown and says my 4.1.2 is the most recent one

Same thing here dude...my PC companion shows the update but my phone says its the latest when I look for new update...and when i try to update it using PC companion error occurs..

The update doesnt even show on it
