Camera Viewing screen

Hi Everyone,

Newbie here with a brand spanking new Xperia 8.

This may seem petty, but on the camera viewing screen there are two black lines down either side, similar to a widescreen TV broadcasting a show that is in a non-widescreen normal format.

I have convinced myself that I have done something to make this happen and that it wasn't like that at first. So my question is, can these be removed in some setting somewhere is this how it actually is all the time?

Thanks in advance

Hi Angela and welcome to the forum.  Just checked out my X8 cos I couldn't remember but they are present on mine so I don't think it is anything that you have done and as far as I can see there are no options to remove them.

Thanks so much, it must just be me :smileyblush:

One last question, is there a way of not having the album icon in the corner when you are taking a photo?

sorry to meither

I don't think there is on the camera application that comes on the phone.  You could try a third party application from the Market, I have Vignette which has a free or paid version.  The paid version has lots more functions.  Another one I have heard people recommend is Camera 360 (or something like that!) but I am not convinced that they do a better job than the one we already have. I'd say download the free versions and see what you think.
