Sony Cybershot Stuck in Negative

Hi, I have recently purchased a second hand sony cybershot dsc w690 from ebay. It was working fine when purchased however the screen has suddenly turned negative and i cant seem to get it to go back to normal..wondering if anyone has had the same problem or knows how to fix it. Hi Faye, welcome to the Sony Forums

I'm guessing the photos turn out ok? It's probably a fault, in that case. There are some Picture Effects settings that look like a negative image but they would also record with the image file.

It's possible there's a setting you have inadvertently engaged, so try a reset: Power the camera down, remove the battery pack, wait for about one minute, re-insert the battery pack, then switch on. Then Initialise: http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/4423999111/ENG/contents/06/03/06/06.html#l2_initialize

If the above doesn't fix it, you'll need to consider finding a technician that will. It could be a simple repair and it's worth asking, either at a decent camera shop (who may be able to arrange the repair) or via the Sony repair process: http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/repair to see how viable it would be.
