The RM-VPR1 is apparently the only remote that will work with the CyberShot DSC-HX300 bridge camera and the Alpha A58. A real necessity and a major issue that Sony should address especially as these very long super zoom cameras are very prone to camera shake. These remotes are very scarce and Sony will charge in the region of £90 for one and you a paying for a range of 'features' that most people simply will not need!. At the moment Ebay have 3 of these for sale between £50 & £60... one from Japan, one from Hong Kong (which is cheapest) and one here in the UK at £59.99. Lets hope someone in the Far East can come up with a less expensive option in the near future as even at £60 these are still over priced!
I am really hoping I will be contradicted here and someone will tell me that other options are indeed available
