Got a sound bar HT-SF150 to my Bravia KD-43XD8088, and it works fine using HDMI to the TV's ARC jack. Bluetooth pairing the soundbar with my Galaxy TAB S2 to stream music from Spotify also works fine. But after leaving the tablet (unpairing) and going to TV, I get double sound: the TV audio and the soundbar audio, with a lag between them which makes it unbearable. The only way I have found to get back to normal audio is to disconnect the power cord of the sound bar, and then reconnect. Would appreciate help with this.
Hi khallergard,
Do you have any external devices connected to your TV?

Hi, Yes, 3 devices all HDMI. BT YouView Box, old SONY DVD Recorder and my PC. Cheers
Disconnected all three devices, but the problem persists
khallergard,
Is your TV running the latest software? The new Oreo update has been released yesterday. It's available for download through this link: https://bit.ly/30Hh9D5 .

Hi khallergard,
Could you also possibly disable the headphone speaker link settings, you can get that by pressing on Home - Settings - Sound/Audio - Headphone speaker link off?

Hi The_Black_Rose,
Am still on Android 7.0 - am a bit reluctant to risking Oreo. First will try your suggestion about unlinking the Headphone speaker - tomorrow.

Hi, Did try unlinking the Head phone speaker but no luck.
Guess I will have to take the plunge with Oreo next week. v6.6510 now actually mentions my 43XD8088 which it did not before. Thanks The_Black_Rose! Cheers
Upgraded successfully to Oreo 8.0 from Nougat 7.0 (to v.6.6520 from v.6.5629). Did it solve my soundbar issue? No, I am afraid not. Still only solution is to pull the power cord out.
Hi @khallergard,
If you are receiving the "TV Speakers are active due to Audio System communication failure" message on your TV, it is most surely due to a loss/weak signal passing through both devices.
I strongly urge you to purchase a High-Speed Premium Certified cable and if you want to be future proof for 4K HDR at 60p, even better an Ultra-Speed Premium Certified cable. We often encounter customers facing issues regarding malfunctioning of their linked AV devices, and 9 out of 10 times the reason is due to poorly shielded cables against EMI emissions (Electro-Magnetic Interference). Certified cables are required to pass specific tests which are set out by the HDMI Premium Certification Programme. You can find the proof of certification from the orange Premium Certified label which must be visible on the packaging material.
Hope that helps you solve the issue, and as always keep us posted!
Cheers,
Dutchice
Thank you Dutchice! Will get a cable as you sugget next time I go to Currys and will report back
