Connectivity Bravia Android TV with Laptop

This is a new TV (model KD-49DX8099) and I am struggling connecting my laptop (so I can Mirror my laptop screen, and also view videos, photos, music from my laptop on the Sony TV. My laptop is Windows 10, and is WiFi connected to the broadband router.  The TV is ethernet connected to the same router.  My TV can see the laptop (when I go to the Home screen, and try 'Videos' or 'Albums', the laptop name is shown.  My laptop is also showing the TV in its 'Network' screen on File Explorer.  I am missing something obvious...... any help?

TIA

Regarding mirroring here you can check the step on Windows 10 , but be aware the a lot of Windows 10 users say the it doesen't work well (even if you have the right devices and certification for Miracast), while it was working better on Win 8.1 http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/mirror-screen-windows-10

In order to work the other way round (selecting file from the video app on your tv accessing the pc directory) your PC should be configured to act as a DLNA server. If you did nothing on the PC I assume you are using WMP as DLNA server... here some step in order to share your video library using it http://www.howtogeek.com/215400/how-to-turn-your-computer-into-a-dlna-media-server/. Nonetheless I suggest you to install serviio (www.serviio.org) on your PC since it is a DLNA server much better than WMP (and it is free)

worked a charm with just the windows media settings.  I thought I had tried these yesterday ... but maybe what it then needed was an off-on cycle!
