Can't add my new Bravia into a Google Speaker Group

Hi there,

Having a quite weird and annoying issue at the moment. For some reason I'm not able to add my new Bravia with built-in Chromecast into a Google Speaker Group. No problems at all with my other Google Cast devices (Chromecast, Chromecast Audio). It is now just my brand new Android TV that is having this issue. Is it just me or someone else having the same case? Very annoying as looking to complete my plans of having full house multi room audio setup.

With BR,

Jari Sivén

I have the same issue, I bought a sony google tv bravia 2022. I can’t add it to my speaker group. Someone from sony can help me?

Hi @Wabo84

I’m sorry, this is a community of customers, not Sony Support so nobody from Sony will help you.

You also you appear to be in Canada. I would try Sony Support for your Region. This is the European community.

I am having the same problem, Google articles suggest this should be compatible with the latest updates but the TV just doesn't show in the list of devices to add to the group.

TV: KD55XG8096

Chromecast built-in: v1.68.374976

no updates available

Hello @Dubla89, you need to make sure that your TV is running on the latest software version. It should be v6.7220

I am having a Sony Bravia XR-65A80J from 2021. It is running the last version of the operating system - that can't be added to a speaker group either. When will this be supported?

Same issue I have a Sony KD-75X82J with built in Chromecast, I bought chromecast vip edition for my phone too. I can't even add my tv to Google home anymore as it won't find it. Nor can I cast to my tv from my phone.
