Software Issues - Not fit for purpose

First and foremost, I am big Sony fan, I have purchased many of Sony products and I am normally not disappointed by most aspects of Sony products.

The Xperia 1 however is very very different. The device is simply not fit for purpose in its current state. There are several issues with the device which as a community and consumer we should expect and demand to be fixed within set timescales.

Sony is charging premium prices for a product that is littered with bugs and has no set path or communication from Sony as and when bugs will be fixed. This is simply not good enough.

My plan of action is to start logging every single performance crash, every 1st party app crash (camera, phone, sleep to wake). How many times a day a hard restart is required, how often the camera crashes.

I am hoping other members of the Sony community will do the same so we can use this thread as a measure of how bad the software really is.

If we have not received a response from Sony advising how and when the bugs will be fixed, I will start action against Sony to return the device outside of my countries return period for a full refund by Sony. I truly think that us as the community should expect to be able to return a device within a 6-month period if Sony cannot sort these issues out.

It is not an unreasonable request to expect a product which cost in some countries $1000 to outperform or at least be able to perform daily tasks equal to a $300 product without crashing.

It is simply not good enough.

Great.

What apps did you have installed at the time.

And did you have alook to see if any were running along side the camera.

I'm sure someone posted on here saying there was a screen recorder kicking in when videoing

Here is a list of the installed apps I had removed.Screenshot_20190822-184021.png

Looks like the overheating is back unfortunately. The screenshot shows overheating message at 10 minutes.Screenshot_20190822-203405.png

Going back to square one I went into safe mode again but this time instead of stopping the 60fps recording at 10 minutes I went 20 minutes and got an overheating warning. Looks like if it is happening in safe mode there is nothing more I can do.

I don't think sending it in for repair will help now that I see this.
