first of all, I love Sony phones. Unfortunately I have reservations about the new Flagship the Xperia 1. Before I was using an Xperia XZ Premium. That phone is the greatest and I'm even thinking of switching back. Why? I like the userinterface better, the bluetooth connection with LDAC enabled Sony Headphones works a whole lot better and the overall stability is so much better.
Is there anyone out there that has a solution. I really want to use the LDAC functionality. It makes quite a difference in sound. I sincerely hope that Sony can fix the problems by updating software soon. It is starting to get annoying.

Yep they do connect via, either the USB C Mobile DAC like I have(lilnked above, or indeed, the kit you have GilgameshUK, with your Dragonfly.
Wired or bluetooth, the choice they say, is yours!
@WilfredB,
why would you have that app installed anyway?
It's not a standard app, You have "Music" installed as standard, and there are many many better music players out there, and everything supports bluetooth, like Poweramp or Neutron for example(which actually take and improve Android audio), as all the Sony Music Center(Songpal) was, was a really old mediocre music player for wireless speakers/amps, with the most messed up library system ever.
Your issue with it too, is probably the top issue with that app also.
Glad you seem to have it fixed, removing that 6 year old app.
Gotta say, not had any issue with ldac on my 1000xm3s not my ex750s
Ok, here's my report after a few days of using the headphones with my xperia 1. Aparently removing the Music Center app from my phone did the trick. I have not had a hickup since. I'm surprised by it.
On the other hand, I notice an enormous drop in internet speed when I listen to music through bluetooth. But that is for another time.
